TIMELINE

A team of 4 was formed.
R&D and the hunt for farmers began.

Farmers were found, fruit was harvested and product trials were run. Brand strategy and packaging was completed. Full scale production began in earnest.
Sept 15
2017
A highly anticipated day.
Dry Cassis hit the shelves.
Orange Curaçao followed suit.
2018
Marionette appeared widely across print and digital media, and in February it won a Champion Trophy at the Distilled Spirits Awards with its very first batch.
The range expanded dramatically.
There was the ever popular Mure…
and by the end of 2018
Groseille, Apricot, & Amaretto brought the lineup to 6.
Marionette collaborated with Never Never on their Fancy Fruit Cup. And spurred by a glut of strawberries after the needle crisis, it paired with Brogan’s Way to launch a Strawberry Spiced Gin.
2019
was a big year
Marionette won best liqueur in Australia for the 2nd year running. It came no. 9 The Drinks Business Top Trending liqueur brands in the world. The team partook in a sea of events, and focused on collaborative products finessing a Passionfruit Gin Liqueur with Brogans Way.
We made the leap, and Marionette landed in NZ.
And Marionette Nocino was born.
2020
In February 2020 Marionette organised its very first product launch event. Peach pie, peach soft serve, peach bobbing. A country fete on a Fitzroy rooftop.
March 2020. All production paused. The team shifted gear, and provided mentoring and resources to venues across Australia.
Marionette Products made it to Hong Kong and Dry Cassis won its third medal at the (virtual) Distilled Spirits Awards.
Marionette ended 2020 with a product designed to bring a laugh to the table. Because everything tastes better blue.
2021
In 2021 we brought a taste of the Mediterranean by way of Mildura. We returned to Glenn, buying all the Seville we could get our hands on. It was the bitter Australian negronis had been waiting for. Starward, Melbourne Gin Company, and Homegrown were waiting too, and our bitter quickly appeared in their bottled versions of ever popular bitter drinks.
2022
Was a very BIG year for our very own Nick Tesar. He took out the Australian Round of World Class (the cocktail comp to top all cocktail comps) then proceeded to come runner up in the international round. We couldn’t be prouder.
Meanwhile, we worked on collaborative products, including a custom Blood Orange & Hibiscus Curaçao, to feature in the iconic French 75 at Her in Melbourne.
2023
Wow-wee, what a year. We found a home, and built our very own distillery! All the while working away, including creating this little beauty for Tipo 00- a Lemoncello.
2024
Hugh Pineapple Hands, and,
Pineapple Liqueur were launched
with many more collaborative
products in the pipeline.
